Academics and scholars are constantly releasing breakthrough insights that can change the world: from climate change and sustainability to artificial intelligence to medical advancements and more. But reporting around complex science and academic research can be challenging.
Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post journalist Chris Mooney knows how research and reporting can create incredible impact together. Hosted by UVA’s Environmental Institute, Mooney will use real examples he’s seen through his distinguished career writing on climate change, energy and the environment to showcase science reporting wins (and losses) and share thoughts on what can be done to move research to action.
Join UVA's Environmental Institute (formerly the "Environmental Resilience Institute") as it launches its new name and revitalized mission at this thought-provoking event. UVA’s Environmental Institute links research to action to find solutions for climate change and environmental resilience challenges and can be found online at environment.virginia.edu.
Registrations are not required but seating is limited to the first 100 attendees.
