Are you affiliated with the Environmental Institute and in need of a spot on the Downtown Mall to work and/or host team meetings?
The EI’s space, located above Bebedero Restaurant on the Downtown Mall of Charlottesville, offers the following options for EI-affiliated faculty, post-docs, students, and researchers looking for space to conduct research and meetings in line with the Institute’s mission:
- Hoteling Desks.
There are a limited number of desks available for use that can be reserved on a daily basis. Each desk is equipped with a large monitor, mouse, and keyboard for docking a laptop or tablet. The hoteling desks are located in shared offices that may be used by another EI affiliate.
- The “Living Room.”
The EI’s space has a large, open area with multiple couches, chairs, and coffee tables as well as side tables that can be converted into portable desks. There is a moveable whiteboard for brainstorming sessions. The Living Room space is available without reservations, but requests for use must be made to Carrie McGowan as you will need access to the building. The Living Room can comfortably support up to 10 people at a time.
- A Conference Room for up to 30 people.
The front Conference Room looks out over the Downtown Mall with multiple large windows letting in natural light. All tables and chairs are movable and the room can accommodate 15 people seated at tables or 30 people without tables. There are two monitors for presentations as well as hybrid/virtual meeting capabilities. There is a podium for a presenter to use.
- A Meeting Room for up to 15 people.
The back Meeting Room has a board-style set up with a long table surrounded by chairs. The room can accommodate 15 people seated comfortably around the table. There are two monitors for presentations as well as hybrid/virtual meeting capabilities. There are also two whiteboards in the room for brainstorming sessions.
