The UVA Environmental Institute seeks research projects from UVA faculty on climate issues for which the Institute will help recruit and fund postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines through our Climate Fellows Program. The Institute supports interdisciplinary research and training that is both great and good at the intersection of environmental change and human well-being. The Environmental Institute connects faculty, students, and citizens to create solutions for a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable future.
Please submit proposed research projects for postdoctoral support on topics relating to climate change, resilience, adaptation, or climate research, broadly defined.
In this cycle, the Institute is especially interested in research emphasizing the intersections of climate change and artificial intelligence.
Any interdisciplinary research project encouraging discovery using any approach, including technical, environmental, social science, humanities, across a broad scale including global and local community levels is appropriate. Proposals based on all perspectives are welcome, irrespective of disciplines.
The Institute will support suitable projects with:
- A two-year (fully or partially) funded postdoctoral research associate.
- The postdoc will receive a salary and full employee benefits.
- Professional development support.
- Strong social support from a cohort of fellow postdoctoral researchers.
