The EPA Mid-Atlantic Region recently hosted a one-day virtual event geared towards addressing environmental health topics relevant to the area. The summit is held annually and features an opening plenary with state environmental secretaries and concurrent sessions focused on various topics, including equity, environmental justice, sustainability, grant opportunities, and more.
In a session titled "Engaging Rural Eastern Shore Communities in Climate Solutions," UVA's Environmental Institute Director Karen McGlathery and UVA's Barbara Brown Wilson presented the Institute's work on the Eastern Shore of Virginia as they partner with community leaders to ensure that academic insights translate into actionable solutions that resonate at the local level.
The session was recorded and is now available online. Watch below or watch on YouTube.
